Top 3 Business Insights from Last 7 YEARS | Liron’s Podcast Episode 130

In today’s episode I’m sharing 3 BIG business-related insights I gained over the last 7 years of building my art business. These are MACRO insights that I think you and anyone can benefit from, even if you’re NOT building a business.

Let’s get to it!

#1 – Things never work out the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time

I can’t even begin to count my failures. It’s simply an INHERENT part of doing something worthwhile – Learning a skill, creating a relationship, building a business etc…

I had to learn to recognize this fact, embrace it and continue iterating, improving and trying – until what I did WORKED.

Happens to me in painting, drawing, marketing, making content etc.

#2 – Learn from the BEST

This is another incredibly important insight I had.

If you want to learn something FASTER and more efficiently – find the person / place that’s the BEST that you can afford, and learn from that.

This will save you time, bad habits and probably even MONEY in the long run.

The ability to find these people and resources is something that will also improve with time.

#3 – Always give MORE than you receive

This is something I always try to strive for.

In any business transaction, or even personal life – I’d much rather give back more than I receive.

And again – this isn’t necessarily from a place of kindness (though I would like to think I’m kind), but rather – it’s PRACTICAL!

In the long run, you’ll always do better and get farther by providing more value than you ask for in return.

And along the way – it ends up really helping people, so why not? (:

Conclusion

These are some of my most meaningful insights from the last 7 years of working on building my art business.

There are plenty more, in all different areas of life.

Let me know if there’s anything in particular you want me to discuss here, on YouTube or any of the other channels!

How I Got My Book “How to Sketch” Published in Spanish | Liron’s Podcast 126

In this episode I’m talk about how I got my “How to Sketch” book published in Spanish, with a Spanish publishing house!

This is more of a “story time” podcast episode, so I’m REALLY curious to hear your thoughts on this one, and if you want more!

Independently Publishing Books

As you may know, I published multiple books independently on Amazon. This has proven to be one of my smartest career choices so far!

The book that probably did the best up til this point in time is “How to Sketch”. It hit bestseller on Amazon many times, and people seem to love it!

How I got my book published in Spanish

The main takeaway here is this: If you want something – YOU have to GO get it. You have to do most of the work.

I sent out hundreds of emails until I got my few “yes” responses.

This is especially true when you’re just getting started and no one really knows you.

If you can understand that, and put it to action, there are SO MANY THINGS you can achieve.

Conclusion

Once again, I hope you enjoyed this one. I’m really curious to hear your thoughts and if you want me to do more of these story time episodes, I have a lot I can share!

And also – if you enjoy these episodes – please please consider giving the podcast a rating and leaving a review 😊🙏🏼 It’s a huge help.

Thank you so much, and until the next time!

3 Things That REALLY Helped Me With My Art Teaching Business | Liron’s Podcast Episode 103

In this episode I’m talking about a few things I think are a MUST in order to create a successful art teaching business!

These 3 things are probably heavily responsible for the relative success of my art teaching business.

Here’s a summary of what they are…

1. Proactiveness

Being self driven and motivated, working every day without needing any external influences to encourage me.

If you’re asking whether you should or should not do something, and you’ve been debating it for a while in your mind without taking action, this is already a warning sign that you perhaps need to improve your decisiveness.

I don’t think I’d be able to do all the things I have so far, had I debated everything in length.

And you have to realize – I’m not against contemplating or making plans. But at some point it’s execution time.

2. Free Communication

Freely sharing all my best advice, techniques and tactics for free, online, without asking for anything in return.

This is something many artists hate, and thing reduces our value. But i disagree.

I think providing free value is the KEY to getting more business.

The days of trade secrets are over, information has been commoditized.

Let’s see who’ll get more students and followers, the person who posts TONS of free and valuable content for free, or the person who doesn’t have any online presence…

3. Routine & Structure

Building your work day and learning to become your own boss.

This is mostly about structure. You have to be dedicated enough to figure out how to work effectively and efficiently, and get things done.

You have to be somewhat organized and know what you’re doing.

You have to research and decide on what products and services you offer. You need to develop a marketing plan, a content schedule and so much more.

This ingredient is important for anyone wanting to be self-employed, so perhaps a more general one (much like the first one too).
